Case Study 1OVERVIEWThe client, located in a very exclusive subdivision on the top of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, has a very large existing Koi Pond that is slightly more than seventeen years old with a seriously outdated filtration system and poor circulation. Completely redesign and rebuild the crumbling rock work around the pond perimeter and replace the old filtration system with a top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art low maintenance system from Savio Engineering. An additional waterfall feature will be incorporated into the upper end of the main pond body for aesthetics. An old deck that was hiding the existing filtration system will be replaced with a new Trek Deck to better access and enjoy the water feature. OBSTACLES A well established and mature landscape pre-existed around the water features perimeter that could not tolerate excessive disturbance, including a fifteen foot diameter Japanese ornamental maple. The pond was currently housing nearly forty very large Koi that would need to be temporarily housed on site and the pond site itself was located at the far end of the mountain property at the very edge of an eight hundred foot bluff. OUTCOME A uniquely tranquil and serene oriental garden complete with a full sized Japanese Tea House and an eleven thousand gallon per hour cascade waterfall. The new Savio low maintenance filtration system made a virtual maintenance dream come true for the homeowner who had for years slaved endlessly trying to maintain the home for his dearest pets that would eat from his hand at will. |
